I'm interested in hearing about any ideas anyone has for solo play? I think the old Charles Grant "Programmed Wargames Scenarios" mechanisms might work, but am interested in any other ideas?
Solo has always seemed a good way to try out scenarios, but also play some games when no opponent is available.

I am playing solo sometimes, usually when my opponents dont have time - nice and easy way i used once was pre-given orders to one side and at if there is enemy in LOS of given unit roll D6 5-6 continue as planned and engage nearest biggest threat, 3-4 situation unclear unit will occupy nearest cover if already in cover it will begin overwatch 1-2 unit will retreat to nearest cover if in cover hold fire it isnt perfect but it is easiest one

Once I get my act together to play FFT (painted up armies etc) I will be a solo player.

I am a solo player more often than not. I am still working on a way to game solo and its trending towards card activation, with pre-planned orders. If I ever get my act together and finish the terrain I need, I plan to have my first battle soon.

Play mainly solo, usually scenario based s Using preset defenders it's mainly attack and preprogrammed defense. Takes a bit of the surprise element out but yes the older WRG Charles GrNt book gives some good games
